Our Year Two

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green." Jeremiah 17:7-8.

By faith, patience, compassion and love Dominic and I are celebrating our two year anniversary today. I feel like the most blessed woman on earth! During our wedding, someone mentioned that their wish for our marriage would be that our love would deepen day by day. This wish has come true! We couldn't be happier.

To our family and friends - thank you for being a part of our special day two years ago. More importantly, thank you for your ongoing support.

After work on Friday night we drove across to New Hampshire to stay near Keene at our friend's cabin. When they extended the invitation they mentioned that their 'tiny home' would be the perfect antidote to the city. How true this was!

AeroGarden 3 weeks | Marriage 1.5 years

February is National Indoor Gardening Month! According to my first edition of AeroGrow magazine, there is an entire website of webinars and videos on indoor gardening. I now have my very own, year-round garden calendar so I know exactly when to plant for vine-ripened tomatoes all winter long and when fresh spring greens would be likely to sprout for summer salads.

If I sound excited about this gift it is because I am. Check out my herb garden's progress after exactly three weeks:

This is lemon basil under the light. Notice how the leaves rise up to get those rays:

The lights are on about 16 hours each day. They know exactly how much these little starters need to meet their full potential. Here's a picture from just a few hours later after the light went off:

I'm thankful for Dominic, and not just because of his thoughtful generosity. Today we have enjoyed marriage for a year and a half. From Queen Anne hill to Rose Hill he makes my life exciting and inspires me to reach the highest heights.

Newly Wed New Technology

Dominic and I celebrated our six month anniversary on Monday. As a surprise I gifted him an Analog Pass-Through DTV Converter Box.

It's not much of a gift. To be honest it felt a lot like throwing money into the trash can, but with the Olympics just days away and March Madness not far after, my options were either the converter box or countless hours in The Spectator (the sports bar down the street).

The front of the box promotes: "Eligible for the $40 DTV Converter Box Coupon". This is the government's way of apologizing for the expense of this time-travel machine. Unfortunately, the friendly Radio Shack employee informed me that the refund was only available until last November.

As if the purchase didn't already sting enough, once Dominic got the box hooked up we realized you have to have bunny ears to get a picture. Geesh, it was like a blast from the past! We sacrificed a beloved metal hanger and Dominic went to work at trying to auto program our four channels.

Within a half an hour we were the proud owners of a semi-working television set. All it took was Dominic holding the aluminum foil-hanger contraption in a very exact position. This was fine because the only show we could see was The Bachelor.
